Caralluma Fimbriata is a plant belonging to the cacti family that is native to India, though can also be found in other countries including Canary Islands, Saudi Arabia and Southern Europe.

How Does Caralluma Fimbriata Work?
Caralluma Fimbirata contains a phytochemical called pregnane glycosides that helps to block the enzyme citrate lyase.
Citrate lyase is what helps to produce fatty acids in our bodies and converts energy and glucose into fat which the body stores.
By suppressing this enzyme, we can burn dietary fat more effectively.
Caralluma is also believed to have an effect on the appetite and when eaten, sends a signal to the brain that the stomach is full.
Does Caralluma Fimbriata Help You Lose Weight?
Evidence suggests that Caralluma Fimbriata may be effective for appetite suppression and helping to reduce fat and calorie intake, helping to quench thirst and increase stamina and endurance.
But the jury is still out as to how effective Caralluma Fimbriata is at burning fat and whether significant weight loss results can be achieved.
Is Caralluma Fimbriata Safe?
No serious side effects have been reported with the use of Caralluma for weight loss, however the following mild, but unpleasant side effects are known to occur within the first week of use:
- Stomach upset
- Excess Wind (flatulence)
500mg of Caralluma when taken twice a day for 60 days or less appears to be quite safe for the vast majority of people, but for long-term use, its safety has not yet been determined. It’s also not known whether it is safe for pregnant or lactating mothers.* source
Caralluma Fimbirata seems to be a decent appetite suppressant and for someone with a short-term weight loss goal, such as wanting to lose small amount of weight; a pound or two to get into their bikini or that little black dress for a special occasion, Caralluma Fimbriata would be ideal.
For those who are truly obese and need to lose a lot of weight over the long-term, we don’t believe Caralluma is suitable based on the lack of evidence surrounding its effectiveness and safety.
